Rumor has it January 4 is the last non-controversial day to say happy new year! to friends and strangers, so I’m fitting it in before it’s officially too late. I hope you had a restful, loving holiday season break and are feeling energized. Happy new year, friend.
Let’s pour one out for my longtime hero, Barbara Walters, and then skedaddle right onto the work stuff.
Working on now/need pitches:
Reader’s Digest: Rounding up the best and most useful jewelry organizers on the market. Must be affiliate-ready. If you’re pitching Amazon, needs 500+ ratings. Otherwise Nordstrom, Walmart, Target etc. are all jazzy choices! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Reader’s Digest: Best evil eye jewelry pieces to keep your energy positive this year… and yes, affiliate-ready is a must. Ahem, your sephardi friend is super excited about this roundup, btw. Would love most options to be $300 or less, but a couple of splurges will be considered :) And seriously, if you’re not selling on a major .com retailer’s site or have Skimlinks connectivity on your DTC site, I have to pass) bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: Best seder plates for Passover-celebrating families to use and admire. Major retailers and/or Etsy is okay! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Extra Good: Amazon Valentine’s Day Gifts under $50. No min rating requirements, but please be genuinely good/cute (these pieces are mostly written to support you, and the Christmas ones BLEW UP omggggg!). Open to ideas for the whole fam. Strong preference for brands that are good about social media shares <3 bryce@theluxuryspot.com

Musings:
I have a few talented PR freelancer friends looking to pick up more work right now. I know they’re good because they pitch me really, really well and have done a great job forming relationships. If you’re hiring or looking for freelancers, holler. I’ll send ‘em your way or make the connection.
Lots of questions roll in about why I put price caps on my shopping stories. I want to clarify—it’s not that I don’t think your $700 headband isn’t absolutely gorgeous, it’s that I’m aiming to appeal to realistic American shoppers. A $25 headband is doable for the majority of America. A $700 headband is a calculated decision for most people. And success is somewhat volume based.
I hit my 2022 subscriber goals for Extra Good’s newsletter, so I want to say THANK YOU!
A thought about decompression… the break was really, really positive for me. I hadn’t disconnected from work for an extended period of time in SO long. I mean, sure, I do weekly shabbat shut-downs, but a handful of hours vs. a full on 10-ish days? There’s no comparison. And I needed it. I was working myself to the point of crispy, burned out exhaustion and also carrying other people’s stress on my own shoulders. New year, better boundaries though—right? Anyway, sharing this with y’all because I spoke to so many friends in this industry (and others) who have felt the same way. Life is short, and I believe we are happiest and do our best work when we’re laser-focused without engaging in the noise of things/people/situations that weigh us down. So if you needed a reminder to take a minute for a walk, cuppa tea, yoga, meditation, call your mom, etc.—let this be it. And, on that note, I wrote SO much yesterday because I have more power in ye ole’ fingertips after the rest. Balance is a brilliant system.
Want to join the Affiliate Tribe? I’ve had a few people reach out yesterday and today about discounted membership offerings. Agencies and groups of 4 or more paid subscribers can access annual memberships at 40% off. Holler if you need a code.
Be well, friend! Talk soon.
Happy New Year Bryce! You look fab in those pretty pajamas... and that snowy backdrop! LOVE
