Hope everyone had a peaceful, restful, and meaningful long MLK weekend! If you’re back to work like I am, it definitely feels like delayed Monday around here, but things are lookin’ up because *most* of my kids are back in school with their wee lil’ N95s. #blessed
What I’m working on now:
Reader’s Digest: Still working on the best ever memory foam mattresses! This’ll be a relatively brief list of the best-of-the-best and will have wide syndication. Ideally, we’d like somewhat affordable and readily-available mattresses vs absurd gold-coated-and-diamond-encrusted models the average human will never buy anyway. Yes, we do have to give ‘em a whirl. Please pitch asap with affiliate-ready links to your jazziest memory foam options! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: F’real! Need bestselling coffee makers with built-in grinders. Affiliate-friendly pitches, please. Sooooo Walmart, Sur La Table, Amazon, Target, Wayfair, etc. (If you use an Amazon link, please refer to my Amazon affiliate pitching guide to see if your product will make it beyond top editing teams). bryce@theluxuryspot.com
NewsBreak: I still occasionally write for this major national news aggregator (I was launching women’s lifestyle like whoa before stepping into the in-house TMB role). Right now I’m working on a piece about what determines the longevity of Botox treatments + need a New York-based doctor (yes, gotta be New York and a doc) to talk about how the body metabolizes neuromodulators. Quick, easy questions. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Jobs:
An old friend in the NYC area is looking for a solo PR practitioner to come on board her men’s skincare + services brand (think grooming and bro-tox) as in-house PR. She’s also open to PR folks who are looking for flexibility and have a *small* roster of non-competing brands. She’s opened and run several medispas and skin brands in the past and now wants a self-starting PR gem to help her kick it off. She’s interviewing/gathering pitches etc now and plans to kick off in March or April, depending on the availability of the right candidate. She doesn’t want an agency (wasn’t happy when she went down that road in the past). Email me and I’ll connect you with her as she wants the new biz kept on the DL for another few weeks! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Kate Spade is hiring a media assistant! Is that you? If it is, can I publish a picture of you looking like Audrey Hepburn in the KS showroom after you nail the interview?
Commerce editor position open (emphasis on pet products).
Other thoughts:
You didn’t ask, but one of my favorite subscribers here and an IRL friend, Lisa, is a beauty entrepreneur based in NY (salons, mass-market lip balms, etc). Anywho, a while back Lisa told me to get these jeans bc they look like denim but are sort of… sweatpants? Sounds like the most terrible idea—but I assure you they’re the best idea that’s ever happened. I am sharing this with you now as I wear them, and I know they’re overpriced, but are they REALLY overpriced if you wear them every day? Nay.
If you didn’t already get to it, I published a list of some noteworthy affiliate rates lots of you are looking to compete with. I just put it up this morning, but will also update Thursday with additional specific requests.
Also, I have a new list of this week’s top Skimlinks performers… should I publish? Are we interested? Or skip?
Until tomorrow, please enjoy this ridiculous imagery of people in Georgia thinking they know what to do with snow.
Yesss into the Skimlinks trending products!
