Holy Monday productivity! Kept my earbuds in and got 7,000 words done today and OMG I feel somewhere between renewed, alive, and ready for another coffee that will ruin my sleep + the latest Ozark episodes. Have you already watched them? Are they going to mess with my mind like the last batch?
It’s late in the day so I’m going to skedaddle right to it all! <3
Working on now:
Taste of Home: I need a pantry organizing expert to lend some tips/tricks/answer specific questions! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Reader’s Digest: Believe it or not, July 4 sales. You know the drill with affiliates, but we’re open to just about any major retailer + all the smaller DTC retailers that have skimlinks set up. Need by June 4, so you have a little time, but today is the day to email your client with “get on it, people.” And definitely stop sending MDW pitches. That ship has sales-ed (ugh, I’m fully in mom jokes territory). bryce@theluxuryspot.com

Have LOTS of family-themed travel content coming up for July, and I’ll start asking for pitches right after MDW. Just something to note and I *hope* it’s helpful: Travel pitches fall on mostly deaf ears when they come as “please write up our Sand & Sun package, you get a free sunscreen with every booking!” …I want to support you and your client, but also need to serve the reader will enticing info. That means truly unique/exciting features deserve the call-outs. The state’s largest water slide? All the waffles come shaped like your kid’s actual face? Free on-site baby cow nuzzling? You get where I’m going, but those weird almost package deals never get written up on my end so I hope you get to save your energy <3
Had a really lovely lunch & learn with one of my favorite lifestyle PR firms last week. These are my favorite to do! Usually they’re focused on internal edit side trends and affiliate practices, but I always end up learning something from the PR side too — and I love that!
Guys. Has anyone eaten like LOADS of raw fruits and veggies for weeks at a time? That’s where I am right now (will explain later), but if you’re knee-deep in fruit salad and raw peppers please hit me with *recipe* ideas. Running out of ways to make salad over here and need some inspo.
Till tomorrow! Lots to say and continue from Thursday’s email. <3
For the July 4th Sales roundup, what kind of discounts do you need- 10%, 15%? Let us know!
Hi Bryce. You mentioned salads but are smoothies using all of those fruits and veggies - separately or together -- in your rotation? An amazing doc I follow developed a healing protocol based on 96 oz of green smoothies daily ("greens" kale, spinach, chard, etc. flax or chia seeds, water, 25% fruit for some sweetness). It's amazing. Even if you don't need to cure anything, the nutrition your cells will get delivers great energy. On the fruit side, pretty much same thing -- hide some veggies in your fruit smoothies, add some flax/chia seeds for omega 3s. If you're only doing raw, maybe add some healthy dips & do crudite -- hummus, guacamole, babbaganoush! Good on you for eating raw!
