Do you celebrate Halloween? If so, did you have a good one? I ventured into the town of Woodstock to watch the annual weird/wild parade and caught some of the best costumes EVER.
Posted one here for your amusement, but if you dressed up in something spooktacular I’d love to see it too. Share with the class, please. We all need some smiles! Onto work, because OMG I’m drowning in the tail end of holiday coverage and need your jazziest pitches <3
Working on now/need pitches:
Reader’s Digest: Last call for tech gifts pitches! Top-selling tech items will be considered for the whole family, but I’m in the most need of Amazon products with at least 500+ ratings right now. Bonus points if they retail under $500. If from a different retailer, that’s okay, but I need skimlinks-ready stores (ie walmart, lowe’s, target, etc.) bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Family Handyman: I need pitches for the best motion-sensor garbage cans. Must be affiliate-ready. Tight deadline! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Family Handyman: The coolest gadgets and gifts for DIYers on your list. Maybe a rugged pair of gardening gloves? Power tools? Bestselling fleece that moves with your body? Hiking boots? All pitches NEED to be affiliate-ready (skimlinks and/or major .com retailer like Lowe’s, Home Depot, Amazon with 500+ ratings, Target etc). bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Reader’s Digest: Best gifts for boys ages 1 to 15! We’re rounding up the best (and best-selling) gifts for boys. Bonus points for bestsellers and runaway hits from this year’s hottest toy lists, snow suits that promise to never get wet, cozy winter coats for little ones, spiderman-themed shampoo etc. Again, y’all know the affiliate rules! bryce@theluxuryspot.com

Musings:
Going to discuss the really weird/inaccurate affiliate rumors circulating our industry in tomorrow’s Affiliate Tribe newsletter, so stay tuned for that. TL;DR: Skimlinks is still king, don’t trust anyone heavily pushing any one particular network over an umbrella. Do not change or shift your systems. Do not be swindled into a next-best-thing move. Stay your course, whatever that may be. I’ll talk about this tomorrow in depth, but rumors/false info is concerning stuff that could sink your ships. Also, if you’re pushing shit on vulnerable PR teams just for clicks and kickbacks, do better. Small PR teams can’t afford to take the losses you’re leaving them at risk for and big PR teams rely on handfuls of team leaders to secure salaries for broader groups. People have bills to pay, kids to feed and jobs to keep. I’ll get off this soapbox in a minute, but false information being delivered to genuinely interested and only somewhat-informed humans = dangerously unkind.
Extra Good launches in a matter of days!!! Agh! I am thrilled! The hard URL is being built out right now and I’m super excited to be able to share some of the coolest info/things/experiences from around the web + support more of your work.
Also, can anyone breakdown the new FB and IG creator payments system now? If so, want to guest author a post?
That’s it! Talk tomorrow. Love and crisp leaves to you all <3
Bryce - You've left me no choice but to steal your "Love and crisp leaves to all" sign off because it's too good and perfect for the crispy weather. Thank you! & also thank you from settling down my stress pimples that erupted yesterday after hearing news of this whole affiliate world shake up, am looking forward to hearing your clarifications tomorrow (:
Hiii - is the offer still open for competitor Skimlinks rates? If so, would love to know what Alo and Lululemon are offering :) thank you! x
