Good morning! I hope you’re wearing short sleeves anywhere you may be because OMG it finally feels a bit like summer, eh? In an effort to make the most of the great outdoors, I’m trying to cram as much work as I can in before 3 p.m. ET today — yay!
Working on now/need pitches:
Reader’s Digest: All the best graduation gifts new grads will love the most — and yes, we need major retailers or skimlinks-ready DTC retailers. Ideally most gifts you pitch will be under $250 to hit real-world budgets (our audience buys like wild and we like to honor wise spending!), although a handful of splurges and extra-special items will be considered. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Reader’s Digest: Still need a few more Father’s Day discounts/sales/deals! Again, major retailers or skimlinks-ready DTC for the most part, but also open to chain restaurants offering freebies or exciting bonuses. Examples of things that work: Take 20% off all men’s denim throughout the month of June when you use code DAD20 at checkout OR Starbucks is giving free size upgrades on Father’s Day itself when you tell your barista that you’re a dad or grandpa. Made that last one up, but you feel me. They should do that. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Jobs:
amika (yes, the good shampoo!) is hiring a new PR and influencer manager.
NBC is hiring more commerce editors (again! see? I told you this industry is the future! all the budgets heading that way.)
Musings:
Strangely, get on top of your late June/early July pitches NOW. Those stories are coming down next week’s pipeline for most in-house eds and a lot of freelancers. Can you believe Christmas is only 3 months away?
If you replied to my queries about onions or taters last week, I’m getting back to you today! We slightly reworked the angles on those stories so I had to shift my questions. Will message you shortly <3
I can answer the age-old why did the chicken cross the road? question now. In my case, it seems they wanted to get to my son’s school bus to pick him up.
That’s it for now! Lots of analytics in tomorrow’s email <3
Your chickens are hysterically funny and very very cute.
