Hello all! I know it’s been a minute since sending a general admission newsletter, but I’ve been working on a variety of magazine titles day and night to get shopping content off to the races.
For the last few weeks, I’ve assigned a ton of content, but now I’m coming up for air and getting some writing done and sourcing for staff writers here. And there’s plenty of exciting and good news to share, but more on that later.
What I’m working on now/need pitches:
Feel free to pitch me at bryce.gruber@stjoseph.com with the story title in your subject line so I can easily keep track.
Today’s Parent: Amazon-ready Easter gifts for kids, ideally not candy (though a few sweet treats will make it in). Bonus points if you’re pedaling something somewhat affordable and with great shopper ratings. US-focused.
Today’s Parent: We’re working on a thoroughly vetted piece with the best family resorts in Texas. We may send staff eds or freelancers, but either way, Texas! (Later in the month we’ll work on other US and Carib stories).
Today’s Parent: Best new electric breast pumps on the market. These’ll be tried by freelancers and staff eds and motors tested, etc. Ideally, we’d like major .com retailers like Amazon, Walmart (not Target!), but open to affiliate-ready DTC as well. US-focused.
Fashion Magazine: Top-rated, game-changing hair curlers, ideally on Amazon or a DTC affiliate-ready website. Must be available in both US and Canadian markets (we serve both!).
Fashion Magazine: Hair removal creams, mousses, etc. Major retailers only please! Must be available in both US and Canadian markets (we serve both!).
Fashion Magazine: Best hair diffusers… you know the drill. Must be available in both US and Canadian markets (we serve both!).
Chatelaine (english and french editions): Top-rated pillows available in both US and Canadian markets. These stories have massive reach (really, every woman in Canada and lots along the US border!), so please only pitch if you know for a fact your client(s) ship across North America.
Hello! Magazine: We’re working on celebrity-focused health and wellness stories, so start pitching. Ya know, the protein powders they swear by, the yoga pants they wear, etc. Need a strong celeb connection (real celebs, not appearing on local cable one time and never again) and product availability across North America.
TP/Moms of Manhattan: We’re looking to add a NY and NJ-based family law experts and prenatal wellness experts to our burgeoning social media groups. Super low time commitment and you’d be first in line for expert commentary in related Today’s Parent articles.
Jobs:
Party City needs a new PR/influencer manager. $80-100k salary, North Jersey-based.
Santa Monica Tourism PR Manager needed. You can imagine where they’d like you be to based.
Halara needs a new internal comms director. Salary around $100k, and you better love leggings.

Thoughts:
I’m going to do my best to get back to everyone quickly, but as you can see, LOTS of stories in the works and eds/freelancers to work with, so it may take a minute!

Finally gave Goodles a try this week/wrote a review, and was pleasantly surprised by how much my kids liked it. You didn’t ask, but I mean, I feel like mac and cheese news is news everyone can use.
For the Affiliate Tribe:
Lots to discuss this week, and I’m sorry I’m combining it with the general newsletter, but it’s easier to have one email to open today… right? Right.
So, I had a consulting chat last week with a PR practitioner I truly adore. We’ll call her “Pam” for the time being. Anywho, one of her fave clients forwarded her a proposal from an affiliate-only company asking for their biz.
Pam freaked out—their proposal all but guaranteed media placements in commerce stories. It was like they were coming for her job.
I immediately told her not to worry. She, a seasoned PR pro, actually has a significant edge (and I was willing to email the client to prove the point).
