Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!
I’m going to get into all the usual story queries, jobs, links, and whatnot in a minute but wanted to share some free affiliate insights I would normally reserve for the paid subscribers. Why? Because hearts and chocolate and all that jazz, and everyone can use a leg up on Mondays, eh?
You’ll find the info at the bottom of the email, and I hope it’s useful to you.
What I’m working on now:
Taste of Home: Need a kitchen cleaning expert for some quotes on technique/hacks. Please, no branded experts. Ideally a cleaning service owner, etc. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: All the best organizers for pots and pans. Ideally available via major retailers, but also open to Etsy and other skimlinks-ready DTC retailers. Need pitches by EOD Wednesday. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: The best under-sink organizers. Same as above, but ideally to keep all the bottles of cleaning stuff and sponges etc tidy below the average American sink. EOD Thursday deadline for pitches. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Circling back shortly with more Reader’s Digest and Family Handyman stories!
Jobs:
Wine Enthusiast needs a new fulltime ecomm ed! (Ahem, Aly Walansky)
Know someone looking to break into the PR biz? Dadascope in California is looking for a paid intern at $16.50/hour. Email dana@dadascope.com (and they have great clients including Numi Tea, one of my faves)
Musings:

Free affiliate insights:
I normally offer expanded form versions of these insights in my paid newsletter offerings, but it’s Monday and all the big shopping holidays are behind us for now so consumer product PR is going to need all the ammo possible to help their clients drive press and sales.
What I usually tell my paid subscribers is that it really doesn’t matter if your product is on the list or not—these insights help you track consumer spending trends in almost real-time, which helps you better pitch editors who are doing the same. For example, if an editor notices that pillow purchases are booming, it’s your big moment to pitch other bedding must-haves. So you know, I’m including the commission rates the brands/retailers use so you can also get a leg up on your competition.
Here is a very abbreviated and mini version of what has been trending on Skimlinks + SAS over the last few days:
KitchenAid Artisan Series Tilt-Head Stand Mixer In Beetroot (5%)
Glossier Super Glow Serum (20% — I know, I know… also shocked to see Glossier making two top 10 spots!)
Avocado Green Mattress (15%)
Helix Midnight Luxe (10% and I actually did a Helix review recently!)
Embark Breed Identification & Health DNA Test for Dogs ($5-20 aq fee)
That’s it for now! As always, questions/comments/feedback welcome in the comments section. Sending love from the the Arctic Hudson Valley <3
