First, happy Mother’s Day to those who are celebrating this weekend! Whether you’re a mom of any kind, trying, or stepping into the very-maternal roles of aunt, godmother, or anything else —I hope you have the most peaceful Sunday filled with pancakes and flowers and positive thoughts. It’s not an easy journey, and every mom is a cape-worthy hero!
Working on now:
Reader’s Digest: Best outdoor rugs to turn any outdoor space into a total oasis. You know the drill with major retailers + affiliate links, etc! Pitch by Wednesday of next week so I can get the framework together. Bonus points for hitting these benchmarks: easy to clean, great design, affordability, and brands being good about sharing on social. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: Anyone out there an onion expert? Like, able to talk about storing them, etc? Can’t be affiliated with a brand. A chef is fine (happy to credit with John Johnson, head chef at John’s Trattoria but can’t credit with Jane Jannsen, product development expert at onionstoragecontainers.net. bryce@theluxuryspot.com

Musings:
Remember yesterday when I said you shouldn’t pay for story leads? I meant it. So I’m suggesting you subscribe to the newsletters of friends and colleagues I trust. I’ll spend an hour or two weeding out troublemakers from Facebook Sharing Opps today, but in the meantime, these are your go-to gals:
I’ll add more to the list next week, but I want to make sure every newsletter I suggest is one that I’ve read, vetted, and wholeheartedly believe is spitting out above-board ethics.
Totally different topic, but stopped into Petco today bc it’s next to my dentist and noticed their really, really impressive racks of Pride gear for guinea pigs. I’ve seen a lot of Pride stuff for dogs and cats, but this was my first time catching guinea pig Pride accessories. So if you have a guinea pig, know that Petco is lookin’ out.
Additionally, you didn’t ask, but I see these FLYING up the charts today:
These all speak to the get-outdoors-and-live-your-life trend that’s dominating both search and organic web traffic! If you rep outdoorsy things, get pitching on Monday.
Outdoor rocking chairs: 20% (it’s being pushed as a doorbuster — somewhat limited quantity is pushing demand through the roof)
Men’s Birkenstock sherpa sandals: 1% (under $40, probably going to sell out soon)
Adidas bike shorts for women: 3% (clearance, $7.50!)
Bucket hats: 11% (another doorbuster at $5/each)
Giant inflatable pool float: 15% (kinda want one)
K, that’s it! Have the best weekend. Talk soon, friends!
Happy Mother’s Day Bryce!!
