First, OMGGGGGG LOOK AT THIS!!!!! Thanks for being so wonderful and helping out <3
I’m back from an extra-long stretch of apples, honey and ram horns and REALLY COOL TROPHIES. Feeling pretty refreshed! Onto some important and wonderful things that are extra jazzy for us all.
Soooo… for the 18+ months I’ve been Substackin’, publicists have asked me if I’ll ever write newsletter articles or share links to content I think is important to read, etc. It never really seemed right to put that here, a media industry-focused newsletter. I’m excited to say that a quite a while back I laid the groundwork for Extra Good. As you might’ve guessed, Extra Good is the newsletter home of all the things that I personally think are extra and good. The first newsletter will go out later this month, and some of your pitches will make it in there.
There are SO many pitches I get that really don’t fall under the umbrella of things I normally cover at work but are truly just… amazing. This is where they’ll live. I’ll only send one newsletter a week for the time being, and it’s entirely 100% free for everyone.
It’ll be a fun, frilly and personality-driven collection of everything I think is delightfully awesome each week including must-reads and ground-breaking must-tries.
I planned to keep this under wraps a bit longer, but it looks like a few dozen of you caught onto what I was working on and already followed… so no more secrets :)
Let’s move onto regular work things, shall we?
Need pitches:
Reader’s Digest: The absolute best bedding you can buy on Amazon. Sheets, pillows, comforters, duvets etc will all be considered. Requirements: at least 500+ ratings and a 4.3-star average or better. I don’t need throw blankets for this, so please stick to traditional bedding. Tight deadline! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: Need a few more Chanukah decoration pitches… tablewares? Place mats? Dreidel-adored dishes/cups? Frilly menorah-themed pillows? Hit me up ASAP! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Reader’s Digest: The very best and most stylish work bags every woman needs in her wardrobe. Yes, must be affiliate-friendly (you know the drill with this one!). If Amazon, we need at least 500+ ratings. If DTC, we need skimlinks connectivity. We love products with great ratings and real-world pricing (soooo probably going to skip the Hermes work satchel, ya know?). Make sure it’s work-appropriate, so a computer sleeve or device inserts etc. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Also! No more Amazon sale pitches needed. All done. Re: other gift guides, I’m still combing through and you’ll hear back from me later today or tomorrow. Thanks for being patient.
Jobs:
Love Wellness needs a new PR director. NY-based.
SiriusXM needs a new head of comms. Also NY-based.
Chase Credit Cards needs a new public relations director. VP level.
US Soccer Federation needs a new director of PR. Chicago-based.
Crate & Kids needs a new content manager (hybrid of writing and PR). Illinois-based.
Musings:
I’ll be taking Wednesday off in observance of Yom Kippur, so if you don’t hear back from me please don’t be discouraged. Your pitches super duper matter. I’ll just be offline/starving for a minute. Will sort through priority pitches Thursday AM when I’m refueled.
Affiliate Tribers, you’ll be getting two newsletters this week to make up for last week’s OOO/awards event moment. DJ is doing some really interesting things!
Reminder: Job listings are always free if you give me first crack at ‘em. If you send them out to other newsletters at the same time, it kills everyone’s opportunity to create unique content. Want me to post anyway after you’ve already spread it like wild? Maybe, but only if it hits certain criteria. Email me to talk about it.
That’s it for now!
I'm here for it!
