Soooo I’ve been waiting to share this for a minute (haven’t even updated LinkedIn or social profiles!), but I got a wee lil’ work upgrade recently and am now re-titled as a Senior Shopping Writer/Editor at TMBI focused mainly on Reader’s Digest and Family Handyman. I’m still dipping my toes in the Taste of Home, etc. waters as well :)
If you’re wondering how this impacts us working together—it’s good for everyone!
Technically, I was the Home Editor across the TMB titles before this (although I wrote a bit of everything ranging from fashion to undereye concealer, and yes, lots of home content). Now? Sheesh. If it’s exciting and can be purchased? In it to win it (the hearts, minds and budgets of our millions of readers, that is)! And, as most of you know, Reader’s Digest covers just about every topic (mostly) women might be interested in.
Don’t rush to start pitching everything under the sun just yet. I need a few days to recalibrate and organize, but wow, there will be SO MANY HOLIDAY GUIDES! So many.
What I’m working on immediately:
Reader’s Digest: Best Labor Day sales shoppers won’t be able to resist. Pitch me furniture, bedding, fashion, beauty, wellness, sporting goods, outdoorsy things, food, etc! Just make sure you have skimlinks-enabled or major retailer links. Need ASAP, and yes, the sale must be decent enough to include (4% off is not a press-worthy sale). This piece will be syndicated far and wide, yay! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: The best backyard fire pits for every budget, style and size. You know the drill with affiliate links, but I’m giving these an in-depth whirl and will cover everything from budget to luxe models and all sorts of fuel sources. bryce@theluxuryspot.com (see? still have strong home ed vibes that can’t be shaken from my blood)

Your butt cheeks need this bidet. Internet agrees, says ‘no shit, it’s great.’
Jobs:
Barron’s needs new in-house PR. You didn’t ask, but their articles have been chock full o’excellent data lately, so it sounds like a job that propels itself.
ESPN needs a new senior in-house publicist. CT-based, but hybrid schedule.
ABC family entertainment needs new PR in their Burbank-based offices. Hybrid/work remote available.
Wine Enthusiast needs a senior digital editor & remote work is totally fine by them.
Musings:
I’ll be on the road next month! Heading down to SoFla at the absolute muggiest time of year to reunite with long-lost friends and family and let my kids run amuck around the beaches of Delray. Friends who currently live in PBC, holler at me with ideas/things to do for little kids (is Lion Country Safari still a thing or am I a million years old?). Don’t worry, still working, just making the most of this remote lifestyle!
Unrelated: has anyone ever gotten their dog(s) groomed at Petco? Is it legit? I made appts for my dogs for next week, but please send me post-grooming pics of your own Petco success stories so I know my doodles won’t come out looking like total 90s blowout fluffballs (maybe I’m not against that though).
Look at this hummingbird who came to play in my sprinklers yesterday!!!! (super tiny, look to the left of the orange flowers and about mid-way through the image)
That’s it for now! Super excited about this new role and making myself a bonus latte in celebration <3
Congratulations Bryce - such amazing news!!
Congratulations, Bryce!
Funny RE: Petco - taking Jackie the Pyrenees there for the first time tomorrow. Will try to reminder to post a pic!
