When I started this newsletter a few months ago, I wasn’t entirely sure what I’d make of it. Nobody in the edit world was running newsletters like this, and only my BFF, Aly Walansky, wholeheartedly supported the idea with a sort of we-jump-together attitude. I’m grateful, especially because I think so many of us have benefitted from this new-ish direction for writers and publicists alike. And if you’re wondering, she also jumped headfirst with me into edibles and Botox, so I’m not always the best influence. I am very blessed with the greatest BFF of all time though.
Here we are at the end of 2021 and I’m pretty sure we’ve all gotten something out of Substack. And if the powers that be at Substack are listening, blessings on your heads. Alla’yall.
I want to take a minute before delving into some EOY work stuff to also thank YOU. If you’re a publicist who has responded to my queries or just brightened my day, you’re the best. Thank you. If you’re a fellow writer, I feel you in all the ways and I’m grateful we’re sharing a happy little tribe of keyboard-pushing-pals. If you’re an entrepreneur who has come to my page seeking opportunities for your brand, I’m glad we met and I wish you nothing but continued success in the year ahead.
So, onto work and other promises, shall we?
Yes, I’m still working (I was supposed to be in Israel right now, but we know how that story ended so I’m getting ahead on work):
Reader’s Digest: Finishing my Valentine’s Day gift guide over this weekend. That’s it. No moresies after that, boothang. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Reader’s Digest: Best Etsy gifts everrrrr. Something for everyone on the list, but we love relatively affordable items that are easy to order and great to give as gifts. Pitch by middle of next week. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Family Handyman: Still rounding up a few more of the greatest, trendiest, and most useful floor lamps ever. Need skimlinks retailers or major stores (Amazon, Target, Walmart, Wayfair, etc). Finishing this early next week. bryce@theluxuryspot.com

In January I’ll be launching an additional Substack feature for subscribers with insider info that will help you pitch, industry trends that aren’t usually published, and some job listings. If you’re looking to publish jobs, hit me up any time. I really enjoy seeing people succeed!
Double also, I started using my LinkedIn profile for the first time in a decade if you’re down to connect. I couldn’t be bothered with that platform before, but now that the world is raging with COVID again being bothered by LinkedIn seems downright delightful. Perspective, eh?
Do me a favor and stay safe out there, okay? If you’re in New York, you know why I’m saying that. If you’re elsewhere and it hasn’t quite hit your area yet, sheesh. The wildfire expression is the most accurate.
Until next time, stay safe and I wish you all the happiest, healthiest feelings, holidays, and days. Lots of love.
