First, I want to say thank you to all the really, really nice people in this community. You’re the best, and your emails/texts were incredibly thoughtful and appreciated. Second, I’m going to say this: in today’s job listings I included one wildcard just because it made me laugh. If you find it, I hope you laugh too.
What I’m working on now:
Taste of Home: Best lazy Susan turntables for the kitchen/dining room. Need affiliate-friendly links (ie Amazon, Walmart, Target, Wayfair, Etsy, and skimlinks-ready DTC retailers). Pitch by Friday AM. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Reader’s Digest: Ain’t no party like an unwashed hair party! A list of the world’s best dry shampoos is coming your way, and I need pitches from brands. Seriously, don’t just email me with “this dry shampoo is great.” Explain why it’s soo much better than the other competitors on the market. Bonus points for unusual targets or features. ie Best for Bleached Hair, Best for Brightly Colored Hair, Best for Dry Scalp, etc etc etc. You have till Monday on this one, and yes, they’re all being tested bc this piece will be heavily syndicated. Want bonus points? Supportive brands get the most love, so it’s worth relaying that to clients. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: Best/nicest/cutest Seder plates. You have been chosen for this pitch, should you accept it. Need affiliate-ready retailers as always, but Etsy is also legit! Pitch by Monday of next week. Please don’t pitch *regular* plates. They must be Seder plates because this story is Passover-specific. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Also, still getting back to the over 1,000 baby gifts pitches I got (omg). I’m doing my best + sifting through! Finishing the piece tomorrow, so you should hear back from me before then.
Jobs:
Got time for fancy watches? Panerai needs a new PR lead.
If you’re out west, this really exciting job may be for you. Excellent government-backed benefits package + they’re open to you being based in several locations.
Runner’s World + PopMech also need a new comm ed. It’s a combined role stretching across at least a few titles.
Musings:
Several people asked when Kaila would be running the next Affiliate PR Masterclass. I’m happy to report it starts March 16 and is a start-to-finish guide to how to manage your PR clients’ affiliate accounts and dramatically increase your own income with rev-sharing. Several gals in our community signed up for the last one and said it was “life-changing.” It’s not cheap, but I expect you’ll make your money back and then some (several times over) if you’re a good student. You can take $50 off using code BRYCE50 at checkout.
Another PR gal pal suggested this morning that I offer a sort of connections board in the newsletter. ie “123 PR is looking to connect with a liquor brand for an upcoming event” or “Daytime TV star is looking to be dressed for awards season.” Would that be useful to you? If so, it’ll take me at least an extra few hours of work per week — I’m happy to put my energy into the community, I just need to make sure it’s desired & worth the effort! Please let me know.
If you haven’t already checked, yesterday’s affiliate tribe newsletter went out and has lots of gems/insights. I spent 6 hours pouring over charts and data so you don’t have to.
Re: the dry shampoos, I want dry shampoo that makes my hair THIS good:
Till tomorrow, friends! Only good things.
OMG Grizzlies??? hilarious, although Wyoming is sounding good after the trashy book series i just read that was set outside Jackson Hole.
And yes the connections would be lovely and awesome and useful
