Hi friends! If you’re digging out from a foot or more of snow, hey, you’re not alone. I’m looking out my home office window right now trying to calculate exactly how many days of direct sunshine it’ll take to be able to see grass again. I’m guessing at least a week, because we got dumped with 14 inches on this mountain and it’s still coming down a bit.
Anywho, I want to thank you for all the bakuchiol and probiotics pitches you sent! In good news, I’m turning them into multiple stories now (instead of just the original 2!) and will circle back shortly. Not ignoring, promise—just getting the new angles approved. And if you rep maternity-focused probiotics with a major retailer attached, holler. Going to build these lists out this week.
What I’m working on now/need pitches:
Today’s Parent: Mother’s Day gifts under $100 on Amazon, ideally with loads of positive ratings. This guide is going far and wide, so I ask that you/your brand be good about social media shares as well! We’re aiming to please all sorts of moms with this one! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Today’s Parent: Best-ever laundry detergents that are safe and easy to use for families. Baby detergents, all-organic-and-natural detergents, dye-free, fragrance-free, stain-busting—you name it. Need Amazon links for this one. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Today’s Parent: Rounding up the best sustainable period products. Must be affiliate-friendly (Skimlinks/Amazon), and have a sustainability angle. Pads, period underwear, cups… you name it. Please be good about social sharing on a positive piece! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
NewsBreak: Wild, weird and over-the-top medispa and beauty treatments around the New York area. Must have great pics, and bonus for social shares. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Today’s Parent: Best ever indoor water parks around North America. And yes, we’ll be visiting a few! Again, love brands that are good about social media shares on positive press. Example of formatting here, though some feature standalone pieces will be included. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
NewsBreak: Compiling lists of the absolute *best places to get botox (and other injectables)* by county in New York and New Jersey. Starting with Westchester, Bergen County, Queens, and Rockland Counties (honoring google searches here!).

Musings:
So, this is exciting. For the last several weeks, I’ve been helping publicists and marketers reframe their pitches for the lens staff editors look through. I’ve posted several guides in the paid Affiliate Tribe newsletter and even hosted a free Zoom call on the subject. Really excited to be getting emails showing the fruits of this labor paying off!
It’s not something I run around talking about because it works just for me personally (though, ahem, it does). It’s something that works for basically all the large publishers with edit staff focused on daily content production.
And it’s relevant for freelancers, too. Why?
Because the freelance landscape is changing. Sure, the old method of “hey, editor—I have an idea, can I pitch it?” still works. But not quite as successfully as it used to. That’s because staff teams are now tasked with very clear, narrow content groupings and either have to write it all themselves or assign it out.
Freelancers will likely tell you that a good portion of their work is now assigned content with hyper-specific titles and ideas. If the freelancer was pitching "everything I learned about myself while climbing mountains in Tibet” the story is more likely to be cast as “TK Best Mountains for Climbing in Tibet, and Everything I Learned While Scaling Them.”
There’s a major difference there, whether you see it or not. Anywho, maybe that’s too much and too deep—but it’s really satisfying to see these formatting and SEO cues paying off for my PR friends. Y’all have uphill battles and deserve a break!
I’ll cover more of this in tomorrow’s paid newsletter, as well as a piece of the Amazon game I think you can use to your advantage.
Hi Bryce - Please forgive me, I have GOT to ask because I've been wondering for a while now and I may just be out of the loop... what is the significance of bubbeleh? Does it stand for something?
I second the TY email sentiments - your tribe newsletters/sessions are sheer brilliance!! Good luck shoveling out & looking forward to tomorrow's newsletter!
