Happy Thursday, friends. Plenty of good news and gratitude to go around. I’ll get right into it all in the interest of saving precious time.
First, a major mazal tov to my BFF Aly Walansky for being named one of Muckrack’s top food journalists! I know I’m writing from a t-shirt at my dining room table up on this mountain, but imagine me clinking champagne glasses in something as sparkly as a Boca Raton grandma named Phyllis (or Linda? or Janet? I love them all…) might wear in celebration of Aly’s success.
Second, and I mentioned this in my paid newsletter earlier, I got the green light from the powers that be to take on more review content. I’m excited about this, and there are still lots of parameters and benchmarks to meet for products to get standalone review articles, but I’m excited. Why is this happening? Because these articles do really, really well. I’m still working on how this will look, the pace and frequency, and verticals to roll out across, but know that it’s coming!
Onto some job listings, shall we?
TAO New York needs a new head of PR.
The famous Apollo is also looking for in-house PR.
LoveToKnow is looking for a commerce editor. The gig is remote, so you’re basically required to wear sweatpants the whole time.
Apartment Therapy is also looking for a new. commerce editor to join their team.
Some queries for my own writing:
Reader’s Digest: Do you rep a DTC flower bouquet company (not potted plants, but specifically flowers). I have space for ONE more inclusion of gorgeous Valentine’s Day bouquets. Must be on affiliate, currently available, and genuinely a delightful Valentine’s Day bouquet (again, not a potted plant). Email me by 3 pm et today! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Reader’s Digest: The best mops for every type of floor. You know what to do, and yes, I need to try ‘em out and yes, they need to be on affiliate-ready sites like Walmart, Target, Amazon, Wayfair, etc. If you don’t hear back from me quickly it’s bc I’m mopping my brains out in the name of journalism. bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Taste of Home: The best coffeemakers with built-in or included grinders. Ooooooh, excited about this one! Again, affiliate links. Can be DTC, Amazon, Walmart, Nordstrom, etc — just needs to fit the bill! bryce@theluxuryspot.com
Some quick housekeeping:
If we’re not already connected on social, let’s be! Some platforms I use more than others, but it’s been nice to see a lot of you on LinkedIn, share images of the oatmeal lasagna I made my chickens yesterday on Twitter, and discuss the crime that is hot-water-in-hot-chocolate on Instagram.
Also, nobody asked, but Sam’s Club is selling miniature vegan corn dogs rn (at least near me) and they’re divine. If you’re into more plant-based foods and less meat, get onboard this mini corndog train. You won’t be sorry.
After my last email, I found out we have a celebrity in our ranks. Reyne Hirsch is a “13 season appraiser for Antiques Roadshow.” OMMMMMMGGGGGG she’s living the American dream. Or at least my American dream. Whatever, I love that show and I feel like Reyne is my new antiques Beyonce.
That’s it for today. Have a few fun additions for tomorrow’s newsletter. Thanks for being pals and spreading the word!
FABULOUS!!!!
LOVE everything about today's newsletter, so exciting on all fronts Bryce!! + Mazel to Aly too - very cool!! xx
